Some cool news this month from US-based RX Reels. Remember back in the New Year when designer Kevin Root put out a call inviting readers to vote on some of his new reel design ideas? Well, the votes are in and the winning reel is going into production.
The new EDGE design will roll out to the public at the Pacific Audio Fest in Seattle next week (23-25th June if you’re in the area).
In the latest RX Reels newsletter, Kevin writes, “To those of you who took the time to reply to our new product survey, thank you! You helped make our new EDGE design a reality. Why do we call it EDGE? Customer feedback told us our buyers are evenly split between two groups: those who like a subtle look and those who want something a bit more bold (but not too bold.)
EDGE is one product that will please both groups. It’s available in two configurations. In one, the flange cut-outs are aligned so the subtle but distinctive color shows only on the outer edges. In the second configuration, the flanges are clocked, and the rich colors are displayed through the cut-outs.”
