California-based, Grammy Award-winning, Yarlung Records is an audiophile label with a difference. Well, a few differences actually – one being that it’s a charitable institution that reinvests its profits in supporting emerging young musicians, and another being ‘Sonorus Holographic Imaging’, a process developed with Sonorus Audio that’s designed to create a three-dimensional sound field with a unique sense of realism.
This month, US audio magazine The Absolute Sound has published online an interview with Yarlung’s Executive Director, Bob Attiyeh.

Says Bob, “Within a few months Yarlung will have released 54 albums. It is hard for me to believe that we are celebrating Yarlung’s 15th Anniversary. We have supported music in classical, jazz, and world music (now called global) so far, and are about to release our first foray into electronic components and even New Age.” Fingers crossed that this widening range of genres will include releases on tape.
