If you read my report of attending Chasing The Dragon’s audiophile recordings at London’s Air Studios, you’ll know I’ve now become a fan of internationally renowned jazz trumpet player Quentin Collins, whose recording (as the Quentin Collins All Star Quintet) with Chasing The Dragon will be released on master tape and in various other formats later this year.
In the meantime, Collins is about to release another album, just recorded with Ubuntu Music, of his Quentin Collins Sextet Ft. Dan Nimmer. The album’s called ‘Road Warrior’ and is a musical depiction of life as a touring musician.
The album’s being launched with a gig in London’s Soho on Tuesday 3rd September, when you can catch the band in the intimate environs of London’s Pizza Express Live. It promises be a memorable night!
